So, we were in a trendy part of Seoul last weekend and there were 2 people on the street with signs in their hands, raised high above their heads. These people were about my age. One was a guy, the other a girl. They looked as normal as any 20 something year old person you might run into in Seoul would. They weren't normal though, they were extraordinary! Do you know what these signs said? "Free Hugs"!!! I thought that was the best idea ever!! What a peaceful gesture! So, I went in for one. I went to the guy and he opened his arms right up, grinning ear to ear. He swallowed me with his arms and gave me such a warm, heart felt hug. He was Korean and he spoke English. As he was hugging me he said, "Hi! How are you tonight? Doing good? Are you happy?". It was a great hug! I was hesitant to go hug him at first, but as soon as I did, I was so happy with my decision!

Hi Amie!
I saw a bit on the news about this the other day. It seems to be a world wide movement this free hugs thing. They interviewed these people giving hugs away in NYC and Tel Aviv. Not everyone was as receptive to it as you were. Did you note how successful they were before and after you? I hope Dan got one too..you can never do with too many hugs.

Hi Kathy!
There were quite a few people going in for the free hug both before and after I went. It was a positive experience and I think the other 'hugged ones' felt the same way.
No, unfortunately Dan didn't go for one. I tried to convince him, but he just wasn't havin' it. Too bad... it was some good huggin he missed out on. :)
Free hugs on the street, eh?
This gives me an idea!
(no, not to give away more hugs for free, but to start charging my own friends for hugs).
LOL, good idea Kris!
You best be giving some sweet hugs if you're gonna charge... I can speak from experience though, and I can say that your hugs are solid. I'd pay for one. :) But I'd pay you in pickles... dill? or bread and butter? Your choice.
b and b.
for sure.
